QOTD: What quote from a book struck a chord with you?
AOTD: Mine is below. There are so many more, but that's a recent one.
"Opposites attract because people need what they lack.
Many couples misunderstand that and spend
their time trying to change their partner.
No one can change anyone.
If you decide to change your partner,
the only outcome that can be is a disaster."
Cher Bonfis (Who Was Killed?)
Whenever I start reading a book, first I try to read about the author!
This makes me feel that now I know the author and this book is going to be good
(weird, right? I know but it's my way to start a book)!
When I started to read about Cher Bonfis, I got,
"If you want to know about this person best you read the things this person writes."
Pretty convincing!!
The two protagonists Douglas and Arwyn were college couples.
Though their relationship was not that much public but they loved each other a lot.
They often went to the cinema, they spent their holidays together,
Arwyn talked about stuff for hours and Douglas listened to her with full interest.
They did loads of things together. To Douglas Arwyn was the prettiest,
sexiest woman who had ever been or would be. He looked only at Arwyn and was completely happy in his choice.
In their twenty's, life was pretty smooth and sweet for both of them.
Later in professional life, Douglas became a Jazz musician and Arwyn became a teacher.
Douglas had to move from city to city, country to country to perform with his band.
Sometimes, Arwyn went with Douglas and they enjoyed their togetherness like the old times.
Suddenly, Douglas proposed to Arwyn and out of nowhere,
Arwyn rejected him. With this twist, the book mainly starts.
This book talked about the art of human psychology in different minds, at different stages.
Overall, this is a riveting saga of love, lust, betrayal, intrigue and somewhat revenge.
However, this murder mystery book is for adult readers.
I always love books that can tug me in and hold me there.
Read this please and then tell me when you do, because I'm dying to talk to someone about this!
Highly recommended! 5/5*
